The City of Vancouver is advancing Phase 2 of the Social Housing Initiative, which aims to address the urgent need for affordable housing by updating zoning regulations to allow mixed-income social, supportive and co-operative housing citywide without rezoning. Following public engagement in September 2024, the proposal has been refined based on community input and further analysis. The City is now seeking additional feedback before presenting the final version to Council.
